According to the Ministry of Tourism Handicraft Social and Solidarity Economy that among the markets that showed a strong demand for Moroccan handicraft products during the year 2021 Australia was distinguished by an increase of 115 percent compared to the year 2020.A ministry statement stated that the African market also witnessed remarkable growth recording a growth rate of 68 percent especially through Senegal which accounts for half of exports destined for Africa followed by Nigeria 19 percent and South Africa 15 percent.The same source added that the same applies to the North American market which recorded a growth rate of 58 percent as the United States share in this market is 96 percent compared to 4 percent for Canada.As for the European market whose development was modest in recent years it has regained its interest in Moroccan handicraft products as Europe recorded an increase of 49 mainly based on the Spanish and French markets in particular which advanced by successive growth rates of 107 and 54 percent compared to the year 2020. .The ministry pointed to the good performance of the other countries category which recorded a growth rate of 118 percent through the emergence of promising destinations such as New Zealand and China.As for the level of contribution to the number of export transactions the ministry adds Europe maintains its position as the first customer of Moroccan traditional industry with a share of 45 percent through the French market in particular 16 percent then the United States of America which has a contribution of 30 percent followed by Arab countries with a share 13 percent achieved mainly by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia the United Arab Emirates and Qatar 22 percent 19 percent and 7 percent as successive shares in the Arab market.
