📋 Tender Overview
This Wednesday operations were carried out in three points of high incidence: 37 vehicles were intervened and sent to the deposit. With the objective of recovering the order in urban transport, the Urban Transportation Authority for Lima and Callao (ATU), an entity attached to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), intensifies its unexpected operations and has removed 135 vehicles that carried out the public transport service without the respective security guarantees.
This result corresponds to the first ten days of sustainable inspection announced by the ATU, to frontally combat the high incidence of informality and traffic accidents in the capital.
The intervened units accumulate fines for more than 4 million soles and were sent to deposits as a result of more than 100 inspection operations carried out in the sectors with greater danger, identified by heat maps.
It was also found that more than 40 drivers handled without briefly and circulated informally with combis, custers, minibuses and taxis-collective, threatening the integrity of people.
Retired vehicles
Many of the units sent to deposits operated outside the legal framework and represented a constant danger to citizens. A clear example is the ADU-517 plate vehicle, which offered the Taxi-Collective service in La Molina, with a driver who did not have brief. The unit has 34 fines, equivalent to 492 thousand 200 soles.
Other vehicles that represent a high level of informality and risk for passengers were also sent to deposits, such as the custer with A7I-778 plate, which is 41 years old, accumulates thousands of soles on ballots and was driven by a brief driver.
ATU will continue with its inspection operations at strategic points identified by heat maps, to focus its interventions more efficiently:
- Serious points: Callao, San Juan de Lurigancho and Ventanilla.
- Dangerous points: ATE, Cercado de Lima, Independencia and Los Olivos.
- Medium points: Jesus Maria, San Juan de Miraflores and Villa Maria del Triunfo.
With these actions, it reaffirms its commitment to the safety of passengers, the order in the urban transport system and the strict compliance of current regulations.
