MTC provided direct guidance to access the free signal with better image and sound quality.More than a thousand people participated in the information days on Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) developed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) in the city of Ica, as part of the actions to promote informed migration towards the free digital signal.
During the activities, technical staff from the General Directorate of Telecommunications Authorizations (DGAT) provided personalized guidance on how to access DTT, the equipment necessary for its correct reception and the benefits of this technology, which allows better image and sound quality at no additional cost.
Attendees were able to answer questions about compatible televisions, use of decoders, installation of UHF antennas and coverage in the city, thus facilitating more homes to adequately prepare for the digital transition.
The Vice Minister of Communications, Raul Garcia Loli, highlighted that providing clear information to the population is key to guaranteeing an orderly transition. Digital Terrestrial Television allows families to access a signal with better image and sound quality for free. From the MTC we continue to tour the country to ensure that more Peruvians know how to prepare for the transition to digital television, he said.
The sessions were held on the esplanade of the La Palma Market and in the Bolognesi square, and had the support of the Regional Directorate of Transport and Communications of Ica (DRTC), within the framework of the articulated work between the national government and the regional government.
With these actions, the MTC reaffirms its commitment to promoting access to digital television throughout the country, promoting timely information that allows citizens to continue enjoying the open television service without interruptions.
