πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

As of today, the Kotor Health Center has a state-of-the-art microbiological laboratory, thanks to which all diagnostic procedures in this area will be more accessible to citizens, and employees will have additional security and facilitated work, it was announced at the opening ceremony of the reconstructed Center for Microbiological Diagnostics within the Health Center Kotor.

Minister of Health Dragoslav Scekic pointed out that such microbiological laboratories, as of today the Kotor Health Center, represent the first line of defense in detecting new cases of infectious diseases, resistance to antibiotics, outbreaks of infections transmitted by food and water, as well as possible cases of bioterrorism.

The total value of the adaptation of the laboratory in the Health Center Kotor and the purchase of new equipment amounts to over 423 thousand euros, and the funds were provided by the European Union, which will fully equip eight more microbiological laboratories through this project, for which they have allocated over 2 million euros. New modern laboratories will also be given to health centers in Berane, Niksic, Cetinje, Kotor, Ulcinj, Bar, Budva, as well as the Special Hospital in Brezovik. "Such laboratories are also a crucial factor for the control and prevention of infections in health institutions, and in this way the good outcomes of patient care are also affected.

Better patient care, greater infection control and high-quality surveillance results are one of the main goals that we want to achieve by strengthening microbiological laboratories in the health system of Montenegro", said Minister Ε ?eki?.

The aim of the Government and the Ministry of Health in the previous period, as he stated, was priority investments in infrastructure projects, equipment, but also in the personnel strengthening of all institutions, and in this sense, projects worth over EUR 50 million are currently being implemented in the health care system of Montenegro.

"Over 230,<> euros have been invested in the Kotor health center alone over the past two years for infrastructure and medical equipment. Thanks to these investments, but also to the managerial and organizational skills of director Kumburovi?, as well as dedicated work of medical staff, today the Kotor Health Center is one of the most respectable health institutions in the country, which with its appearance and quality of service provision rivals modern European medical centers", said Minister Scekic, emphasizing that the state will continue to invest in health institutions throughout montenegro, all with the aim of building a quality and efficient health system where citizens will receive timely health care.

Director of the Kotor Health Center Dr. Igor Kumburovi?, stated that the area occupied by the microbiological laboratory is larger compared to the previous one by 40m2Now it's close to 200m.2In addition to construction works, valuable medical equipment is also charged, with the ultimate goal of microbiological analysis in our laboratories at the level of developed world centers. In this way, according to him, preconditions have been created to start with the process of accreditation of the microbiology laboratory, which is a guarantee of achieving a high level of quality of this type of diagnostic procedures.

"In addition to the reconstruction of the microbiology laboratory, in accordance with the plan of activities, we continued to modernize our health institution, both spatially and by purchasing new medical devices and equipment. Thus, by the end of the year, we expect the completion of works on the adaptation of the health station in Risan, an investment worth about 150 thousand euros, which we have provided from our own funds, since our institution has achieved savings by rationally using funds committed to current costs in 2022", said Dr. Kumburovi? and reminded of numerous investments in the modernization of medical equipment in the past period.

The Kotor Health Center, as he pointed out, will continue to invest in equipment and staff in the coming period, all with the aim of raising the level of quality of health care at the primary level, so that the citizens of Kotor and numerous tourists at any time, in the most modern conditions, receive the highest quality health service.

"When it comes to construction works, we are about to renovate the Center for Pulmonary Diseases and ATD, and as far as the procurement of fixed assets is concerned, a tender will be announced for the procurement of two vehicles for the needs of the Patronage Unit and one ambulance, since part of the fleet has worn out. The estimated value of this procurement is 95 thousand euros and will be realized from the funds of the Kotor Health Center. Our institution is constantly working to facilitate access to the most vulnerable insured persons, so the plan is to purchase sensors for automatic door opening when detecting movement on the ramp, along the entrance from a person with disabilities", announced Dr. Kumburovi?.

Director Kumburovi? expressed great gratitude to the Delegation of the European Union for the financial assistance in this project, as well as to the Ministry of Health and Minister Scekic, as he said, for the trust shown and continuous support to the local self-government headed by the President of the Municipality Vladimir Jokic, which is their partner in the implementation of all activities, which they carry out for the benefit of the citizens of Kotor.
