The Government and the European Commission will work in close cooperation to support the continuation of the Mateševo-Andrijevica section, the Bar - Boljare highway, which will be financed from EU funds, loans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the state budget. In accordance with this agreement, appropriate procedures have been initiated for the selection of the most favorable contractor according to the so-called Yellow FIDIC Book, while respecting the EBRD procurement procedures. On April 24, 2024, an invitation was announced to all interested companies to express interest, which will be open for 60 days.
Within this call, a clarification meeting was held in the premises of Monte-road DOO Podgorica, attended by representatives of nine international companies. The great interest of international companies in the continuation of the Bar-Boljare highway project confirms that the quality of implementation can be ensured, with the creation of new jobs in Montenegro and the transfer of knowledge and technology.
We remind that the Project of the Bar-Boljare Highway is part of the indicative expansion of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) in the Western Balkans, which obliges the application of appropriate standards during implementation.
This meeting further confirmed that the Bar-Boljare highway project is a true example of an international project, for which reference partners from different parts of the world are interested, with secured funding from both national and EU sources.
