📋 Tender Overview
In 2025, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) presented the Ten-Year Mineral Resources Plan (PlanGEO 2026-2035), with the aim of expanding Brazils mineral knowledge and providing information on the location and exploration potential of these resources. The document was created in partnership with the Geological Survey of Brazil (SGB), linked to the Ministry.
The report presented defines the institutions priority projects for the next ten years, aimed at mapping and evaluating areas with mineral potential. The focus is on critical and strategic minerals for the energy transition, food security, sector sustainability and the production of industrial minerals and gemstones.
The plan therefore prioritizes minerals essential to Brazils future, such as rare earths, lithium, copper, nickel, manganese, graphite, tin, gold, phosphate and potassium, distributed in 145 defined areas, based on public consultation, to be studied in depth. By identifying strategic areas and deepening knowledge about the countrys mineral potential, the MME and SGB ensure greater predictability for investors, strengthen the formulation of public policies and boost mining as an important vector of sustainable economic development. In this way, Brazil continually consolidates its position among the main global players in the sector.
