πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

The Ministry Of Energy Presented The Lithuanian Energy 4V Plan To The Developers Of Renewable Energy And Energy Storage Facilities, Which By 2028 Aims To Ensure Complete Energy Independence Of Lithuania, 8 Gw Of Renewable Energy Resource Capacity, More Than 200 Thousand Active And Producing Consumers And About 1,500 Mw Of Energy Storage Systems. With This Plan, The Ministry Of Energy Calls On Residents And Businesses To Actively Participate In Energy Transformation - To Use Local Energy, Implement Energy Storage Solutions And Contribute To The Creation Of A More Sustainable And Reliable Electricity System. In 2025 Lithuania Has Already Achieved An Important Energy Goal - It Joined The Continental European Electricity Grid And Ended Its 65-Year Dependence On The Russian Electricity System. The Next Stage Is To Become An Energy Self-Sufficient Country, Producing More Electricity Than It Consumes. In Order To Become An Energy Self-Sufficient Country, We Have To Deal With New Challenges - Fluctuations In Electricity Prices And The Modernization Of Renewable Energy Infrastructure. For This, A Package Of Six Measures Is Provided To Increase System Flexibility, Better Respond To Market Price Signals And Create Conditions For More Efficient Electricity Consumption. It Is Important For Us That The Electricity System Works Optimally, Networks Are Reliable, And Electricity Prices For Businesses Remain As Competitive As Possible. We Also Aim For The Nearest In Lithuania, There Would Be 200,000 Producing Consumers And That Local Communities Would Actively Participate In The Energy Transformation. So Today We Are Presenting An Integrated 4V Plan, How Lithuania Will Continue To Strengthen Its Energy System And Move Towards Energy Independence, Says Energy Minister Zygimantas Vaiciunas. Due To The Rapid Growth Of Local Electricity Generation Capacity, The Majority Of Which Is Renewable Energy Capacity From Solar And Wind, By 2025 Lithuania Covered As Much As 72 Percent. Of Electricity Demand And Significantly Reduced Electricity Imports, Saving About 180 Million. Euros. The Number Of Producing Users Also Grew Rapidly - In Two Years It Increased From 76 Thousand. To More Than 175 Thousand More And More Electricity Is Produced And Consumed In Local Distribution Networks. As The Share Of Renewable Energy Increases, Electricity Prices Fluctuate More. At Midday, When Solar Plants Produce A Lot Of Electricity, The Price Can Fall Sharply Or Even Become Negative, While In The Evening, When Production Decreases, The Price Increases. Despite The Rapid Growth Of Renewable Resources, Gas-Fired Power Plants And Interconnections With Neighboring Countries Are Still Important For The Reliability Of The Electricity System. 6 Concrete Steps Until 2028 In Order To Ensure The Reliability And Efficiency Of The Energy System, Until 2028 The Following Specific Steps Of The Ministry Of Energy Are Planned: 1. Promoting The Use Of Electricity Where It Is Produced. The State Will Create Incentives For Electricity To Be Used At The Production Site Or Stored In Storage Facilities For Later Use. 2. Making It Easier For Large Projects To Connect To Networks. The Aim Is To Simplify The Connection Conditions For Factories And Data Centers Brought To Lithuania, So That They Can Efficiently Use Excess Electricity. 3. Electricity Will Be Cheaper For The Largest Consumers. Companies That Regularly Use A Lot Of Electricity Will Pay Lower Transmission Charges. This Will Help Attract Investment And Save Everyone Through More Efficient Use Of Networks. It Will Not Cost Anything Extra For Other Electricity Consumers. 4. The Price Of Electricity For Business Will Depend On The Time Of Day. The Aim Will Be To Implement Dynamic Pricing - Electricity Will Cost Less When There Is A Lot Of Production (For Example, At Noon) And More When The Supply Is Less (For Example, In The Evening). This Will Allow Consumers To Plan Electricity Consumption According To Price Changes. 5. Promoting The Development Of A Market For Flexibility. In The Future, There Will Be An Opportunity To Earn Money With The Help Of The Electrical System. For Example, A Factory That Stops Production For A Short Time During A Peak Period Will Be Able To Get Paid. A Home Battery That Provides Electricity When It Is In Short Supply Will Also Bring Additional Income. And The Electric Car Charging Station, Which Adjusted The Charging Time To The Needs Of The Network, Will Be Able To Take Advantage Of The Discounts. 6. Ensuring The Synergy Of Small Power Plants With The Safe Operation Of The Power System. Grid Operators Will Implement Tools To Help Coordinate The Work Of Thousands Of Small Power Plants So That They Work Harmoniously And Do Not Disrupt The Power System.
