Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Andrijana Katic held a meeting at the Ministrys headquarters in Mostar with representatives of JP Tuzla International Airport, General Director Dzevad Halilcevic and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Bahrija Umihanic.
The Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications announced that the business plan of JP International Airport Tuzla for 2026 was presented at the working meeting, as well as the achieved results and financial indicators of the past year.
- On that occasion, it was pointed out that the Wizz Air company, which is already based at the Tuzla International Airport, will have two aircraft here from March, which represents a significant step forward in the further development of the airport. In accordance with the above, the number of passengers is projected to grow to approximately 760 thousand in total traffic for 2026 - it was stated in the Ministrys press release.
They add that the meeting participants introduced Minister Katic to the planned activities and priorities for the next period, aimed at improving business efficiency, raising the quality of service provision and infrastructure projects, which will also be supported by Tuzla Canton.
The importance of further development of the Tuzla International Airport in terms of increasing the capacity sufficient to receive the projected number of passengers was also emphasized.
Director Halicevic expressed his gratitude to the relevant ministry and the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for their continuous support and understanding of the importance of the development of air infrastructure, emphasizing that the institutional and financial support of the Government is of key importance for the implementation of planned activities, business improvement, and further growth and sustainable development of the airport.
Minister Katic expressed her full support for the further development and growth of Tuzla International Airport, stressing the importance of its role in the overall economic development of the region. On that occasion, she emphasized that the relevant ministry, within its competences, will continue to be available to provide the necessary institutional support with the aim of realizing planned projects and improving operations, as well as concrete financial support for the co-financing of existing and new lines, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications announced.
