📋 Tender Overview
The Minister of the Environment, Climate Action and Energy, Carlos Varela, carried out, on Monday, July 6th, a working visit to the municipality of Sao Domingos to assess, on the ground, the constraints affecting water supply systems in several locations in this municipality, whose production capacity has been significantly reduced due to the decrease in water availability. Accompanied by the President of the City Council, Isaias Varela, by the President of the National Water and Sanitation Agency (ANAS), Marize Gominho, by the President of Aguas de Santiago (AdS), Euridice Costa, as well as by other sector officials, Carlos Varela traveled to the towns of Lora, Mato Afonso and Fonte Almeida, where he was able to closely monitor the water supply situation and learn about the main constraints faced by the population. During this visit, short, medium and long-term interventions were also discussed to reinforce water security in the municipality, including improving existing infrastructure, expanding supply networks and increasing the resilience of water distribution systems. Carlos Varela reiterated that the Government will continue to work closely with local authorities and sector operators to find lasting solutions that ensure increasingly safe, regular and sustainable access to water and improve the quality of supply services, as well as ensuring that all communities have access to water in a regular and dignified manner.
