π Tender Overview
The process of formalizing the mining sector in the district of Paso Yobai, department of Guaira, continues. In this context, a meeting was held today led by the Vice Minister of Mines and Energy, Mauricio Bejerano, together with representatives of the concessionaire company and various actors in the sector. The meeting took place at the Vice Ministry of Mines and Energy (VMME), dependent on the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, and was attended by the firm Latin American Minerals Paraguay S.A. (LAMPA), in addition to small miners, artisanal workers, pool operators, millers and associations linked to transportation and machinery. After the meeting, Bejerano highlighted the participation of all actors involved in local mining activity, which reflects a joint interest in moving towards this formalization, promoted by the government of President Santiago Pena, with the aim of consolidating more organized, legal and sustainable mining. Likewise, the vice minister reported that concrete progress is already being made in the regularization of service providers. This continues. We are ensuring that several of the service providers that already have their environmental permit can now also obtain their mining service provider license, he stated. Formalization underway Since August 2024, the MOPC has been promoting the regularization of mineral processing service providers in Paso Yobai, one of the main areas of mining activity in the country, especially in gold extraction. To begin the processing, the authorities established the obligation to submit the Service Provider Request Form (F.P.S.), an essential requirement to operate within the current legal framework. The form can be downloaded from the official VMME website and must be presented at the MOPC Single Entry Desk. The measure has legal support through MOPC Resolution No. 1424/2024 and Decree No. 1447/2024, which regulate mineral processing services in concessioned areas. Date: March 25, 2026
