Minister Berthin Gomez held a meeting with the president of the board of directors of Corpac, Luis Alberto Esquivel, in order to strengthen inter-institutional coordination.In order to strengthen inter-institutional coordination in aspects related to air connectivity for foreign trade and promotion of tourism, Minister Berthin Gomez Vela held an important meeting with the president of the board of directors of the Peruvian Corporation of Airports and Commercial Aviation (Corpac), Luis Alberto Esquivel Torres.
During the meeting, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), the possibility of having the presence of the Peru Brand in strategic spaces of the airports managed by Corpac was discussed. The initiative seeks to strengthen the promotion of tourist attractions, gastronomy and regional products to millions of national and international travelers.
Likewise, the importance of maintaining air connectivity to destinations of high tourist value was highlighted, with emphasis on the completion of the maintenance work on the Jaen airport landing strip and the restart of its operations, as well as the rehabilitation of the Cusco airport and actions to guarantee adequate attention to passengers.
Aspects related to the interventions that Corpac has been carrying out in the modernization of air navigation systems, project management and replacement of equipment in several airports in the country such as Arequipa, Trujillo, Tacna, Iquitos, Chiclayo and Tarapoto were also addressed.
Regarding foreign trade, the growing importance of air transport for Peruvian exports was highlighted and actions were evaluated to strengthen the airport infrastructure that supports the countrys logistics competitiveness.
