📋 Tender Overview
From May 2 to 3 an intra-community dialogue was organized in the city of Mnaka in northern Mali between the Daoussahack community and specifically between the Idoguiritanes of Tinabaw and the Idoguiritanes of Infourkaretane. The objective of the dialogue was to serve as a mediator between the two parties in conflict and put an end to the recurring clashes for ten years. The event was organized by the NGO Cabinet de Recherche Actions pour le Dveloppement Endogne CRADE in collaboration with the Regional Reconciliation Support Team ERAR of Mnaka and the local Committee of Elders. Funded by MINUSMA the dialogue brought together 28 participants including five women .These talks are the result of previous low-key mediation efforts with each side undertaken by MINUSMA in collaboration with representatives of the Ministry of National Reconciliation and Social Cohesion in January 2023. The dialogue resulted in an agreement between the Idoguiritanes of Tinabaw and the Idoguiritanes of Infourkaretane to end the violence and discuss opportunities for reparation in order to establish lasting stability in the Mnaka region. The commitment of both groups to end the violence brings hope for peace in the Mnaka region. The success of this intra-community dialogue is proof of the importance of local mediation efforts to resolve conflicts and promote social cohesion. Womens participation in dialogue is also a positive step towards inclusive peace building. As the situation in Mali continues to be volatile it is crucial that peacekeeping and conflict resolution efforts be sustained. The organizations involved in this dialogue as well as MINUSMA have pledged to continue their support for local mediation efforts in the region.
