o Meeting was headed by Vice Minister of Mines, Gaby, Julca, representing Minister Waldir Ayasta MechanThe Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), through the General Office of Social Management (OGGS), promoted a space for dialogue and dispute resolution between the Apurimeno community of Pamputa and Minera Las Bambas, in order to address issues of common interest between both arts.
The installation session was led by the Vice Minister of Mines of the MINEM, Gaby Julca Cumbicus, representing Minister Waldir Ayasta, and had the participation of the head of the OGGS, Oscar Frias, company directors and members of the peasant community, located in the district of Coyllurqui, province of Cotabambas, Apurimac region.
The vice minister maintained that this space aims to promote a process of permanent, transparent and good faith dialogue, aimed at strengthening relations between the parties and the search for consensus that contributes to the sustainable development of the sphere of influence of the Sulfobamba project.
The parties agreed that the next session of the dialogue space will be on Monday, August 17, 2026 in Lima, to establish a schedule of meetings between representatives of the Las Bambas mining company and the Pamputa community.
Among the representatives of Minera Las Bambas: Claudio Caceres, vice president of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs; Valery Nino de Guzman, Social Management Manager; Gonzalo Garcia, Legal and Land Access manager; inter alia.
Meanwhile, the Pamputa community was represented by its president, Virgilio Pinares Ramirez, Marcelo Vilca Noa, Diego Huaman Pinares, Anais Huaman Pinares and Aurelio Huillca Noa, members of the board of directors, as well as other community delegates.
The MINEM ratifies its commitment to continue articulating efforts with civil society and investors, promoting dialogue and harmony to reach consensus and define common objectives that strengthen the sustainability of mining operations in the country.
