The Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani and the Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly promoted the base and mobile stations for preparation and delivery of passports of our citizens living and working abroad. Finally the decade-long problem that our diaspora had with the installation of these base stations in the Embassies of the Republic of Northern Macedonia is overcome and the service for issuing passports for this category of our citizens is facilitated and shortened. The current procedure for issuing passports lasted from four to five months on average and our analysis shows that in some cases the procedure was delayed for more than six months . Despite the time it was assumed and major expenses such as for themselves citizens so and for the ministry. With the installation of base stations representatives of our diaspora are acquired with great benefits and the terms of the time required for these activities the financial costs associated with it and at the same time you get a finished product a passport for a time period of two to three weeks said Minister Osmani. On this occasion at the joint promotion the Minister of Interior Spasovski emphasized In order to quickly and efficiently exercise the rights of citizens living abroad by setting up fixed base stations we will enable the receipt of applications for travel documents in diplomatic and consular missions and their processing on a daily basis by checking data in real time. And most importantly - satisfied citizens who will have better access to the right to timely receive a personal document which they need to exercise their rights in the country where they live This is another confirmation that our goal as ministries is to be a service to the citizens to provide an efficient and economical response to their needs. This will reduce the crowds at the counters of the administrative services during the summer months in our country because the citizens will receive the same service in our consulates in the countries where they reside. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formed five teams composed of employees in the ministry which will perform training and installation of base and mobile stations in the embassies and consulates of Northern Macedonia which are mapped as having the largest population and the greatest needs for these services. Base stations will be installed in Munich Bonn Berlin Brussels Bern Vienna Ljubljana Venice London Stockholm New York Chicago Toronto and Melbourne. The installation of the base and mobile stations is planned to be completed by the end of October.
