π Tender Overview
The future elevated highway of Luque completed the 100th pile, equivalent to 43% of the 233 planned foundations, a new milestone for the 3.6 kilometer structure that seeks to transform the mobility of more than 250,000 people in one of the busiest corridors in the Central department. The progress of the foundations makes it possible to successively enable the construction of the higher components. To date, Section 11 has 100 piles, 57 pile caps, 44 piers and 11 lintels executed along the route. Each pile transfers the weight of the future platform to resistant strata of the ground. Its execution includes preparation of the area, drilling, assembly of steel reinforcements and pouring of concrete using specialized equipment. The base of the future highway Although they will remain below the surface, these structures are decisive for the stability and durability of the viaduct, which is why their construction incorporates technical controls and continuous tests in accordance with the Highway Manual and current road regulations. The elevated highway will have two carriageways and two lanes in each direction, connecting Nu Guasu and Silvio Pettirossi avenues with route PY02 and the accesses to Aregua, Ypacarai and San Bernardino. This configuration will make it possible to redistribute the traffic flow and facilitate movements in and out of Greater Asuncion, especially in points where high traffic demand is currently concentrated. New metropolitan connection This Section 11 integrates the works package of the Structuring Road Network project promoted by the MOPC through a Public-Private Alliance (PPP) and whose total investment is USD 180 million. The initiative seeks to absorb the growth of the vehicle fleet, consolidate metropolitan connectivity and modernize road infrastructure with high capacity and long-term efficiency solutions.
