The Government has approved the engineering infrastructure development plan of the 330 kV switchyard Musa for the synchronization project and the construction works of this strategic state object are being started. 330 kV switchyard Ma is one of the synchronization projects the implementation of which will contribute to ensuring the reliability of energy supply in the transmission network. By accelerating synchronization projects we will ensure energy independence - this is the goal of this Government says Minister of Energy Dainius Kreivys. The current connection of the three T-shaped lines of the Muaa switchyard is not reliable enough as their total length is as high as 182 km. This means that in the event of a fault in one place all three lines would be disconnected. The new switchyard configuration will ensure a reliable electricity supply in Northern Lithuania - the longest section will be almost three times shorter than now.In addition the junction of the lines is currently in the area of cultural heritage - the site of the Battle of the Sun. Therefore the construction of the switchyard is planned to be north of this area and power lines will be routed to bypass the cultural heritage protection zone.In total 3 out of 14 synchronization projects of special state importance have been completed so far in 2019. The extension of the 330 kV Bitnai substation was completed in 2020. In June the construction of the 110 kV line Paggiai Bitnai and in December the reconstruction of the 330 kV line Lietuvos Elektrin Vilnius. 2020 At the end of 2007 Litgrid together with other transmission system operators in the Baltic States and Poland secured a record 720 million. Eur funding for the second phase of the synchronization project.Other important synchronization works are planned for this year completion of the LitPol Link connection extension project and preparation for synchronous operation with Poland if necessary signing of an agreement on the installation of 3 synchronous compensators submission of the third CEF application and completion of the North East Lithuania network optimization project. An investment decision for Harmony Link has also been made a report on the seabed survey is expected in the autumn and it is planned to announce the purchases of cable and converter stations.
