π Tender Overview
As part of the road emergency response work, Provias Nacional, the executing unit of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, has been providing care and protection to the Astobamba bridge, located at km 138 of route PE-16A, Pamplona - Cajatambo section, with the aim of guaranteeing the passability and safety of users of the non-concessioned National Road Network.
This intervention is carried out in response to the effects generated by the intense rains in the area, which have caused the increase in the flow of the Shapil River and the consequent risk to an abutment of the bridge structure.
As part of the actions deployed, work is being carried out aimed at protecting the structural elements of the bridge, as well as channeling and stabilization work of the channel, in order to reduce the impact on the infrastructure. Likewise, cleaning activities and removal of excess material that could compromise trafficability are carried out.
In a complementary manner, the implementation of road safety signs and traffic control in the sector has been arranged, maintaining the vehicular pass under safe conditions through an alternate route along the section: Huaura - Churin (route PE-18) to Cajatambo, while the work in the field is carried out.
The Astobamba bridge plays an important role in the connectivity of the area, so its proper operation is essential for the transfer of people, products and the development of local economic activities.
Provias Nacional has been monitoring the evolution of conditions in the road infrastructure in the area and executing the necessary actions to mitigate risks and ensure passability.
In this sense, the population of the surrounding communities is urged to respect the instructions of the personnel in charge in the area, avoiding exposing themselves to any risk when trying to cross the work area, in order to safeguard their physical integrity.
We continue to deploy efforts in timely attention to road emergencies in the country, prioritizing the safety of the population and the conservation of infrastructure in the non-concessioned national road network.
