πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

The Ministry of the Economy announces the launch of its first call for projects dedicated to the acquisition of zero-emission heavy utility vehicles. This new system constitutes an important step in supporting companies towards the decarbonisation of their commercial vehicle fleet, by offering them the possibility of benefiting from aid which can cover up to 100% of eligible costs, corresponding to the difference between a zero-emission vehicle and a comparable vehicle equipped with a combustion engine. The call for projects has a maximum budget of 10 million euros, distributed equally between category N2 vehicles, intended for the transport of goods with a maximum mass greater than 3.5 tonnes and not exceeding 12 tonnes, and category N3 vehicles, whose mass exceeds 12 tonnes. It thus covers small and medium trucks from 3.5 to 12 tonnes, as well as heavy trucks and road tractors of more than 12 tonnes, targeting all heavy utility vehicles used for the transport of goods. The call for projects will be open from February 16 to April 30, 2026. Anxious to give companies complete technological freedom in their investment choices, the call is designed in a technologically neutral manner, making it possible to include both 100% electric vehicles and those running on hydrogen fuel cells or equipped with a hydrogen combustion engine. The transformation of conventional combustion engine vehicles into zero-emission vehicles is also eligible. The Minister of the Economy, SMEs, Energy and Tourism, Lex Delles, underlines: This first call for projects represents an important step in supporting the energy transition of the transport sector. By facilitating the acquisition of zero-emission heavy commercial vehicles, we are helping companies to sustainably reduce their carbon footprint while strengthening their competitiveness. Companies of all sizes are invited to submit their project via MyGuichet.lu from February 16, 2026. The specifications detailing all the conditions for participation are available on Guichet.lu: Specifications for the call for projects relating to the acquisition of zero-emission vehicles and transformation into zero-emission vehicles. Furthermore, the law of December 8, 2025 also provides for an aid scheme on simple request for SMEs, with a maximum intensity of 60% for small businesses and 50% for medium-sized businesses. This aid is limited to five vehicles per company and capped at 300,000 euros. The complete terms and conditions are available on Guichet.lu: Aid for the acquisition of zero-emission vehicles and the transformation into zero-emission vehicles following a call for projects. In addition, it is recalled that the Ministry of the Economy also launched, on January 15, 2026, a call for projects aimed in particular at charging infrastructures dedicated to heavy utility vehicles. Selected companies can benefit from a grant covering up to 70% of their investment. This integrated approach makes it possible to simultaneously support the acquisition of zero-emission vehicles and the deployment of the charging infrastructure necessary for their operation. Companies are encouraged to request Luxinnovations expertise free of charge, in order to benefit from personalized support for the design and implementation of their decarbonization projects.
