πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

CEF, funded by the Government of Kuwait, launched its activities in 2011. It organizes and conducts courses for civil servants from Arab League member countries at its offices in Kuwait. These courses are taught in collaboration with the IMF Institute, other IMF departments (financial, legal, public finance, monetary and capital markets, studies and statistics) and other organizations such as the Organization for Cooperation and Development. Economic Development (OECD), the World Bank and the World Trade Organization (WTO). The overarching mission of the CEF is to create regional capacities for economic analysis and diagnosis, as well as for the formulation and implementation of effective economic and financial policies. The IMF is the main player in macroeconomic and financial management. Outside of the IMF's core areas of expertise, training is provided by other institutions. In line with its objective of close collaboration with institutions in the region, the CEF provides joint training each year with the Arab Monetary Fund in the United Arab Emirates and other Arab countries, as well as with Bank Al-Maghrib in Rabat (Morocco). Classes are taught in Arabic or English (usually with Arabic interpretation). The CEF also hosts conferences, symposia and seminars to promote broad reflection on pressing economic policy challenges facing the Arab world.

Selection methods
Participation in courses is mainly by submitting an application. In the case of courses offered only by invitation, applications are presented by public organizations after receipt of the letter of invitation from the director of the CEF.

Self-financing policy
If successful, applicants from international organizations or advanced countries who apply to participate in a course offered at our regional training centers or programs will be considered self-funded participants. The participation of local staff from IMF Resident Representative offices in a course offered by a regional training center or program will also be self-funded. However, these personnel can participate in courses organized at IMF headquarters under normal arrangements. Self-funded participation provides access to the same content and activities, but all associated costs (accommodation, travel and per diem) must be covered by the sponsoring organization.
