π Tender Overview
Schedule data was determined in July mainly by a storm which broke into the country with a hurricane wind on July 7-8 and caused significant damage to both rail and road infrastructure. However seeing the extent of the destruction it is noteworthy that the depreciation that had begun immediately and day and night and the rapidly developed alternative traffic regime could significantly offset the effects of the storm.
Thus in the whole month the accuracy of the MAV Group trains was greatly more favorable compared to the same period of the previous year not less than 8%: 80.43%. Another positive development is that the rate of daily delay indicators has also decreased compared to last year.
This is of course not only the result of effective snowmobile management: more favorable than expected data was contributed in July by long-term improvement measures (targeted infrastructure interventions and above all towing vehicle procurement) which in the long run and continuously support the improving trends of schedules.
At the same time the storm of course left significant traces in our accuracy data. In July 3.95%of trains suffered a delay of at least 20 minutes which is higher than the data registered in the previous month. Thus we paid our passengers a compensation of about HUF 103 million for the seventh month of the year.
(The proportion of delays exceeding 20 minutes remains below 0.5% for Volan passages and HEVs.)
It is encouraging that the timetable of the Szeged railway line continued to increase exceeding 88%in July. This can be explained primarily by high-performance locomotives on sunlight ICs and highly accelerated in the lowland expresses thus allowing Rapid passenger exchange. The accuracy of InterCityk towards Debrecen Miskolc Bekescsaba has also increased and these trains are trained almost exclusively 8-10000 horsepower more modern locomotives.
Among the Balaton railway lines on the North Balaton main line 68% were on the North Balaton main line and 73% on the 30s. As memorable the storm has caused the biggest damage and disruptions in this part of the country which is reflected in the railway company data: July data was less favorable not only than the network average but also than similar values of 2024. This negative timetable effect was only slightly offset by the better timetables faster passenger exchange and other high-profile locomotives at the head of IC and Express train.
Our IC trains and the premium seating on them were still popular and the number of cycling passengers was still high in the second month of the summer.
The number of group trips has fallen compared to the June peak but it was much higher than the same month of 2024.
