The Forty-Fourth ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (44th AMEM) was convened on 7 October 2026 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Sharon S. Garin, Secretary of the Department of Energy of the Republic of the Philippines, and H.E. Dr. Tan See Leng, Minister for Energy, Trade and Industry (Energy and Industry) of Singapore, as Vice-Chair. The Meeting was attended by Energy Ministers and representatives from ASEAN Member States (AMS). Also present were the Secretary-General of ASEAN, the Executive Director of the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), Secretary-in-charge of the Heads of ASEAN Power Utilities/Authorities (HAPUA), the ASEAN Council on Petroleum and Energy (ASCOPE), and ASEAN Specialised Energy Bodies (SEBs) and Sub-Sector Networks (SSNs).The Meeting commended the Philippines leadership as AMEM Chair 2026 under the theme Navigating Our Future Together, which reflected ASEANs collective efforts to strengthen energy security and resilience while advancing regional connectivity, investment and the energy transition amid heightened global energy-market uncertainties. This vision is further carried through the sub-theme Shaping the Energy Future Together through Partnership, Innovation, and Resilience, which highlights the importance of meeting uncertainties through four strategic energy agendas: Securing People through inclusive and reliable energy access, Powering Jobs through enabling investment, skills development, and green industries, Fostering Innovation through emerging technologies and digitalisation, and Building Resiliency through stronger systems, standards, and regional cooperation.
