πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

The State Agency for Civil Aviation CAA has reviewed the Israeli airspace security risk assessment and found it to be safe for civil aircraft operations. This means that carriers can re-use Israeli airspace for overflights to other destinations as well as resume flights to and from Israeli airports subject to a security risk assessment.Analyzing the information provided by international and national partners the CAA concludes that the agreement reached between the parties to the conflict has significantly reduced the security risk to civil aircraft flying to or through Israeli airports. The security situation in the current period allows civil aircraft to operate to and from Israeli airports with up-to-date information on security threats and security risk assessments prior to each flight. This means that Latvian airlines can resume the use of Israeli airspace by carrying out a special security risk assessment before each flight. The CAA has notified the interested parties of the decision taken. On May 18 2021 after evaluating the information at its disposal and concluding that the use of Israeli airspace poses a threat to civil aircraft the CAA recommended that Latvian airlines not operate flights to Israeli airports as well as not to use Israeli airspace for overflights to other destinations.
