📋 Tender Overview
These students presented 49 groundbreaking projects in the fields of life and environmental sciences, natural sciences and mathematics, technology, history and social sciences. 34 senior judges from academia and industry carefully examined the scientific projects and determined the winners of the competition.
Minister of Education Yoav Kish: "The Young Scientists and Developers Competition is exactly the picture of what we want to see more and more – students who are already in high school are touching real science, researching, discovering, asking big questions. This is no coincidence – it is a path that we are building at the Ministry of Education, out of the belief that scientific education should be accessible to everyone. I am proud of the winners, and I also appreciate the teachers who are by their side – without the guidance, guidance and heart they put into their work, none of this would have happened."
In first place:
Yael Stetter from Branko Weiss Eitan Comprehensive High School, Setria | 'Alpha' program in collaboration with the Center for Future Scientists). Yael won for her work in discovering new planets and studying the variables of their systems. Yael will represent the State of Israel at the ISEF competition in Columbus, Ohio and will win a scholarship of 10,000 NIS.
In second place:
Said Geraisi (Nazareth Urban High School | MABT program) – Producing energy from algae. Said represented the State of Israel in the European Union competition in Latvia
Amir Yitzhaki (Green Village, Ramat Hasharon) – Effects of social pressure on artificial intelligence engines. Amir represented the State of Israel at the science fair in Luxembourg
Aner Sharan (Blich High School, Ramat Gan | Alpha Program) – Disrupting the movement of HSV-1 viruses through protein inhibition. Aner represented the State of Israel at the ISEF competition in Columbus, Ohio
Inbal Atzmon (Yehud Comprehensive High School | Alpha Program) – Increasing the brightness of plasmonic structures and coupling to fluorescent materials. Inbal will represent the State of Israel at the ISEF competition in Columbus, Ohio
Each of them won a scholarship of 5,000 NIS.
In third place:
Shirley Roe (Harel High School, Mevaseret Zion | 'Ida' Program) – The Languages ??of Transphobia. Shirley will represent the State of Israel at the ISTF Forum in Switzerland
Yarden Antebi (Amos de Shalit Educational Center, Rehovot | 'Alpha' Program) – Characterization of a biological clock-controlled protein. Yarden will represent the State of Israel at the Luxembourg Science Fair
Noa Peled (High School Near the University, Jerusalem | 'Alpha' Program) – The impact of large invertebrates on macro-detritivores. Noa will represent the State of Israel in the European Union competition in Latvia
Gilad Kotzer (Tel Aviv Municipal High School | Alpha Program) – Reducing the runtime of MD simulations. Gilad represented the State of Israel at the Luxembourg Science Fair
Aviv Solan (Green Village, Ramat Hasharon) – Improving free throw shooting ability with the help of artificial intelligence. Aviv represented the State of Israel at the European Union competition in Latvia
Each of them won a scholarship of 3,000 NIS.
Special awards from M.A.T.:
Lior Orenstein (Yitzhak Navon School, Yavne) – for developing an autonomous system for detecting mines using GPR.
Yotam Malka (Tamar Ariel School, Netanya) – for developing an advanced system to neutralize aerial threats.
Each of them won a scholarship of 1,000 NIS.
A special award for creative work in memory of Noam Knafo was awarded to Esther Ezogi (Horev University, Jerusalem) for developing "A Night Watchman for Sleepwalkers." Esther received a scholarship of 3,000 NIS for academic studies.
