📋 Tender Overview
The Minister of Communications, Dr. Shlomo Karai, stated: “Today we are announcing a number of groundbreaking moves in the Israeli media market, some of which have not been substantially updated since the 1980s. We are opening up the broadcasting market to full competition. Anyone will be able to establish a news channel, every radio station will be able to broadcast all over the country. We will ensure cellular reception along roads, in tunnels, on trains and anywhere in the country and we are pushing forward towards the 5G system with its applications and derivatives. We are developing a unique AI system so that every citizen can import wireless equipment with peace of mind and without unnecessary delays at Customs. Together, with the help of G-d, we will catapult Israel to the forefront of the global technology stage.”
The Chairman of the Economic Committee, Member of the Knesset David Bitan stated: “The Ministry has many tasks. A few years ago, they said that you don't need a Ministry but only an authority, but apparently that's not the case. I think you're doing a good job and I wish you great success”.
