Lima Metropolitana has 96 CETPRO of Public Management that offer careers and technical courses for young people and adults.The DRELM announced that the Center for Productive Technical Education (CETPRO) will also be part of the Institutional Educational Networks (REI), a measure that will promote their institutional improvement, will allow an optimal articulation and exchange of academic and management experiences that directly benefit students.
The announcement was made by the director of the DRELM, Marcos Tupayachi, who highlighted the importance of improving institutional articulation of the CETPRO so that more young people access a quality technical education.
It is the first time that in Lima the CETPRO are integrated into the educational management of the Rei. This will allow a better connection with basic education institutions, facilitating educational transit and strengthening opportunities for our young people, said the head of the DRELM during a presentation before more than 60 directors in the Cetpro Micaela Bastidas, located in San Juan de Lurigancho.
Along the same lines, it will be articulated with private companies to know their labor demand and, according to this, adapt the study programs offered by CETPRO. This will allow students to have better job options or specify their ventures.
These measures are framed in the 7 regional educational policies promoted by DRELM, and in which it seeks to attend, among other aspects, the transit of regular basic education and alternative to technical education that young people and adults follow.
It is worth mentioning that institutional educational networks are territorial instances that promote spaces for dialogue and collaboration between peers for the exchange of experiences, good pedagogical and management practices, with the purpose of ensuring learning, transforming educational institutions and promoting educational transitability and employability of students.
Technical Education in CETPRO
Lima Metropolitana has 96 CETPRO of Public Management that offer careers and technical courses, with official value certification and classes in flexible schedules. More than 30 thousand students are trained in specialties such as cosmetology, kitchen, bakery, metalworking, computers operation, textile clothing, among others.
In CETPRO, students complete two technical training modules to obtain a technical assistant title, and can specialize even more to achieve a professional technician title with two additional modules.
