Its mission is to systematically prepare applicants for admission to medical universities and develop in them the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for the successful development of higher medical education programs.
The basis for the activities of the new institute will be the Department of Career Guidance and the Pre-University of SSMU named after. V.I. Razumovsky Ministry of Health of Russia - already existing structures that have proven their effectiveness in practice. The new institute will unite and expand their capabilities, offering schoolchildren a wide range of educational programs: preparation courses for the Unified State Exam, in-depth classes in chemistry and biology, medical special courses, lectures and seminars from university teachers, laboratory workshops, as well as meetings with practicing doctors. Students will be able not only to improve their knowledge, but also to immerse themselves in the university environment, understand the specifics of the profession and consciously choose their future path.
The main task is to make high-quality preparation for admission to medical universities accessible to schoolchildren from different parts of the region, especially from remote areas where there is an acute shortage of doctors.
The creation of the Institute of Pre-University Education is a logical step in the development of many years of career guidance work carried out by the State Medical University named after. V.I. Razumovsky of the Russian Ministry of Health is conducting training with future applicants. The university not only expects talented students, but also creates an environment for their preparation and informed choice of profession. Our own Medical Classes program has already become an effective model of early career guidance for schoolchildren, contributing to the formation of a personnel reserve for the healthcare system. The project has become widespread not only in schools in Saratov, but throughout the region. At the same time, cooperation with districts is not limited to local work. SSMU experts regularly travel to the districts, hold meetings with medical school students and their parents, talk in detail about the formats of support for applicants, targeted training and existing mentoring programs. This targeted approach helps schoolchildren obtain all the necessary information and make an informed decision about their professional future.
Medical Pre-University of SSMU named after. V.I. Razumovsky of the Russian Ministry of Health is already the first step in the training of a doctor, helping children study specialized subjects in depth, engage in research work and immerse themselves in the university atmosphere from school. The new institute will take this work to a fundamentally different level, implementing the trajectory from school to profession within the framework of a single educational structure.
Such an integrated approach to personnel training will be an additional incentive to attract talented young people into the profession and help solve the problem of shortage of medical specialists in the region.
