The signing of an agreement with the Regional Government of La Libertad to install a modular bridge is coordinated.The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), through its executing unit Provias Descentralizado (PVD), coordinates with the Regional Government of La Libertad the signing of an agreement to install a modular bridge in Banos Chimu. The new metal structure will replace the road that was affected last week due to increased rain.
Specialists from Provias Decentralizado arrived at the Banos Chimu bridge, located in the district of Cascas, province of Gran Chimu, to evaluate the alternatives that will allow vehicular traffic to be restored in the area. For this purpose, they held emergency meetings with representatives of the Regional Government of La Libertad and the Provincial Municipality of Gran Chimu. In addition, topographic studies were carried out in the area of the modular bridge.
It must be remembered that the collapsed bridge was designed to support the passage of trucks with a maximum weight of 60 tons. However, repeated traffic of dump trucks with loads of up to 80 tons was recorded, which generated progressive deterioration that finally caused structural damage.
The sector ratifies its commitment to work together with regional and local authorities to address road emergencies, and thus provide safe roads to citizens.
