π Tender Overview
Ingemmet was recognized during the National Mining Congress (CONAMIN 2026) for the outstanding research presented by Eng. Alonso Marchena Campos, head of the Metallogeny Program of the Directorate of Mineral and Energy Resources.
Their work, titled Prospecting for critical minerals in the VMS-IOCG mineral system through artificial intelligence in the central coastal strip of Peru, obtained first place in the Innovation and Technology area of the Mining Research, Technology, Innovation and Sustainability Work Program (ITIS). Likewise, the research was selected among the three finalist works for the ITIS 2026 award, which recognizes the best technical and scientific contributions presented during the congress.
The research stands out for the application of artificial intelligence tools for the generation of mineral prospectivity maps, allowing the identification of areas with potential for critical minerals, optimizing exploration processes and reducing prospective uncertainty. These advances represent an important contribution to the development of a more innovative, efficient mining industry aligned with the challenges of the energy transition.
This recognition reaffirms Ingenmets commitment to scientific research, technological innovation and the generation of geoscientific knowledge at the service of the countrys sustainable development.
