π Tender Overview
On Eid Al-Fitr Sunday 05242020 the Ministry of Environment and Forestry KLHK together with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology BPPT the Air Force and work partners continue to conduct rain engineering through Weather Modification Technology TMC in the Riau Province region. The team continues to work on holidays by carrying out a flight sorting. The seeding targets in Bengkalis Siak and Meranti Islands spend 800 kg of NaCl salt said the Director of Karhutla KLHK control Basar Manullang in his written statement to the media on Monday 25 52020.Basar said rain engineering was still being carried out because of the recommendations of BMKG and BPPT there was still potential for rain clouds over Riaus sky region. If the implementation of rain engineering is postponed the implementation schedule which is only 15 working days can shift even longer. While other work areas are waiting namely in South Sumatra. The team continues to work for the Red and White. As directed by the Minister the rain engineering is very important to wet the peat fill the canals and embungs because soon we will enter the dry season. Hopefully with this effort we can prevent forest fires. and large-scale land said Basar.Since the commencement of TMC operations on May 13 until May 24 10 flight sortings have been carried out with a total of 8 tons of NaCl seedlings in the Riau Province region.TMC has succeeded in producing rain in the areas of Pekanbaru City Siak Kuala Kampar Sei Pakning Kandis and Sedingin.Since the start of the rain engineering operation through TMC on May 14 until May 24 the total cumulative volume of rainwater has been estimated to reach 33.1 million m3 said Basar.Based on BMKG predictions summer is predicted to peak in the June to August period. The rain engineering through TMC was carried out by KLHK because it saw that the majority of Peat Ground Level Monitoring Points TP-TMAT in Riau Province had shown a level of vigilance. We are grateful for the rain engineering that has been carried out in recent days and has increased the level of peat ground water in Riau to prevent forest and land fires. There must be no forest and land fires in a situation where the community is experiencing a corona pandemic said Basar.KLHK prioritizes rain engineering at various locations in provinces that are very prone to forest and land fires such as Riau Jambi and South Sumatra for the Sumatra region.Rain engineering is carried out with the Casa A-2107 aircraft owned by the Indonesian Air Force that carries salt and seed it around a rain cloud with an altitude of around 10000-12000 feet. Meanwhile LHK Minister Siti Nurbaya expressed her gratitude to all field teams who were still working on Eid al-Fitr. He did not forget to pray that this prevention effort would get the best results considering that the peak of the dry season was predicted BMKG would occur from June to August.I express my appreciation and gratitude for the extraordinary dedication of the team. Keep on guarding safety. I continue to follow daily reports from the field praying that the best work for the Nation will benefit the community especially in areas of forest and land fire said Minister Siti.He added that in the near future he would ask the business community to transfer the peat water level monitoring technology to the community groups. Many HTI lands HGUs and even community land are located in the Peat Hydrological Unit KHG which must be protected. Post 2015 every concession in the KHG is required to have a Groundwater Level Monitoring Point TP-TMAT. One of these functions is to ensure that peat wetness is within safe limits. There are more than 10690 TP-TMAT in 280 companies that have the responsibility to protect and restore the peat ecosystem. The report is always submitted to KLHK. In the event of 2019 areas that were required to have TMAT monitoring points could be intervened by wetting and no fires occurred.I have requested an immediate transfer of technology from the business community to the community so that community peat can be monitored and early wetting is done. The transfer of this technology is very important for efforts to prevent forest and land fires early on by wet peat because peat is dry and vulnerable to burning and when its burned its very difficult to extinguish said Minister Siti. The rain engineering effort undertaken by KLHK was also accompanied by the efforts of the forestry and forestry task force team on land which continued to take various preventive measures by monitoring hotspots and ground checks every time there was an indication of a hotspot. Based on satellite data the number of hotspots in Riau Province from 1 January to 20 May 2020 recorded 271 points with a confident 80-100. This number decreased when compared to the same period last year which reached 503 points. In the last two weeks there have been no hotspots observed in Riau.
