On January 27 the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the mirror sheet production plant of Azermirror LLC at the Sumgayit Industrial Park. The Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov first informed the head of state about the industrial zones created in our country and the activities of the Sumgayit Industrial Park. It was reported that currently 104 enterprises have started production activities in the existing industrial zones in our country. To date more than 7 billion manats have been invested in the industrial zones and more than 11000 permanent jobs have been created. In the next phase it is planned to invest nearly 1.74 billion manats in the existing projects. A total of 19.4 billion manats worth of products have been produced in the industrial zones so far of which 6.1 billion manats have been exported. Currently the products produced are exported to 70 countries around the world. The establishment of industrial parks and industrial clusters in various regions of the republic as well as the creation of a favorable environment for the expansion of entrepreneurial activities there is the result of the successful industrialization policy implemented in the country aimed at diversifying the economy and accelerating the development of the non-oil sector. The industrial zones play a significant role in increasing the innovativeness and production efficiency of business entities promoting the production of high-tech products expanding export potential and simultaneously raising the employment level of the population. Currently there are 8 industrial parks operating in the country including the Araz Valley Economic Zone located in Sumgayit Garadag Pirallahi Mingachevir Balakhani Hajigabul Agdam and Jabrail districts. Work is underway to establish the Nakhchivan Industrial Park as well as a new Western Industrial Park in the territory of Ganja city and Shamkir district. In addition to all this the industrial clusters in Masalli Neftchala Sabirabad and Sharur also contribute to the development of production and entrepreneurial activities. It should be noted that the Sumgayit Industrial Park which has a total area of 640 hectares currently has 40 residents with a total project value of 6.7 billion manats and an actual investment volume of 5.5 billion manats. The creation of nearly 8800 new jobs is planned within the framework of the projects. In fact 6135 people have been employed. The total sales volume of the residents has reached 15.4 billion manats of which 5.7 billion manats is accounted for by exports. Rustam Abbasov the founder of Azermirror LLC provided information about the enterprise to President Ilham Aliyev. It was reported that this LLC was granted resident status in the Sumgayit Industrial Park in 2023. A mirror sheet production plant has been built on 1 hectare of land in the industrial park by Azermirror. Here 30 people have been permanently employed. The plant will produce 900000 square meters of mirror sheets annually. In addition to meeting the demand of the domestic market the export of the products prepared at the enterprise is also planned. The investment value of the project which is based on Chinese technology is 6.13 million manats. The Azerbaijan Business Development Fund under the Ministry of Economy has allocated a concessional loan of 1.5 million manats for the establishment of the enterprise. Azermirror LLC which benefits from all the concessions provided to the residents of the industrial park has benefited from tax and customs exemptions worth 600000 manats. It should also be noted that the development of the non-oil industry in Azerbaijan is one of the main directions of the state policy implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Systematic measures continue to be taken to ensure the efficient use of existing natural and economic resources in our country to attract innovative approaches and advanced technologies to industrial production to form new industrial sectors and to expand the production of competitive products.
