📋 Tender Overview
It has now been proven that without a technical border closure it is impossible to establish a country's internal security and prevent dangerous people from entering, the Prime Minister's chief security adviser said on Sunday's M1 current affairs channel.
Mr Bakondi said that recently statements have been made by the leaders of the European Union that there is a need for a fence at the borders, and several countries have started building fences.
It has been proven that without the Hungarian solution developed in 2015, the system of technical barriers, it is impossible to stop illegal border crossers arriving in large numbers, the chief advisor declared.
Mr. Bakondi also spoke about the fact that migrants have begun to avoid the Serbian-Hungarian border, and are instead trying to avoid Romania, Croatia and Slovenia.
He said it is a new phenomenon that smugglers are "throwing" large groups, 120-180 or even more than 200 people, across the border, where smugglers are also waiting for them to quickly get them into the country.
So far this year, more than 110,760 border offenders and <> people smugglers have been apprehended, the chief adviser added.
With relation to the fact that "gunfighting" is becoming more frequent in northern Serbia, and smugglers have already attacked café customers, Mr. Bakondi said that clashes between human smuggling gangs have been taking place for a long time, but so far clashes have mostly taken place on the outskirts, but now they are also taking place more and more often in populated areas.
In his opinion, smugglers want to intimidate the population into not taking action against them or reporting them to the police.
