The High Commissioner of the Republic of India to the Republic of the Maldives, His Excellency G. Balasubramanian paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef at the Presidents Office today.
During the call, the Vice President and the High Commissioner reaffirmed the strong and enduring partnership between the Maldives and India. They acknowledged the longstanding cooperation and highlighted the close ties shaped by shared interests and values. They further underscored the importance of people-to-people connections as the foundation of the bilateral relationship.
Concluding the call, the Vice President expressed the Governments commitment to further engage meaningfully with the Government of India, prioritising the relationship through necessary arrangements that underscore understanding and respect in every aspect of interactions and actions.
The call precedes the upcoming State Visit of Indian Prime Minister His Excellency Shri Narendra Modi, scheduled for 25-26 July 2025.
