π Tender Overview
The Superior Court of Justice of Ucayali participates in the national photography contest Justice that transcends, organized by the Permanent Commission of Access to Justice for People in Conditions of Vulnerability and Justice in your Community of the Judiciary, with an image titled Where the river leads, justice comes to Purus, which reflects the true meaning of close, human and inclusive justice.
The photograph portrays Judge Noemi Rios Flores, in charge of the Legal Peace Court and in addition to the Purus Preparatory Investigation Court, while she provides guidance and information to a resident of the Conta native community, of the Huni Kuin indigenous people, whose inhabitants speak the Cashinahua language. The scene was captured aboard a small boat that was sailing along the Purus River during a day of outreach by the justice services to this remote Amazonian province.
The image takes on an even deeper meaning as it was taken in the province of Purus, a border area with Brazil considered one of the most isolated and difficult to access territories in Peru. Entry is only possible via a flight of approximately one hour from Pucallpa and, due to its location, the cost of food and other basic necessities is considerably high. 44 native communities live in this province.
It should be noted that this part of the Amazon is home to some of the last indigenous peoples in a situation of voluntary isolation and initial contact, which makes it a territory of enormous cultural and human wealth that requires special attention and protection from the State.
More than a photograph, the image symbolizes a justice that navigates rivers, overcomes geographical and linguistic barriers and reaches out to those who have historically remained distant from public services. It reflects the commitment of judges and judicial servants who, despite the difficulties, bring the justice service to the most vulnerable and remote communities in the country. This work is promoted by the president of the Superior Court of Justice of Ucayali, Dr. Hermogenes Vicente Lima Chayna, who promotes management aimed at guaranteeing more inclusive and closer access to justice for all.
In Purus, this good practice also had the support of the judicial secretary Manuel Jesus Lopez Gonzales. Likewise, judicial specialist Eder Ismael Napoleon Torres facilitated the translation into the Huni Kuin language and provided support in receiving food demands presented by mothers from the community.
As a result of this decentralized day, 50 residents were assisted, who received personalized guidance on their rights and support to access justice services, thus strengthening the protection of people in vulnerable conditions.
Through this participation, the institution seeks to make visible, before Peru and the world, the reality of the Amazonian communities and demonstrate that justice has no borders when it comes to guaranteeing rights and approaching the population.
In that sense, the Superior Court of Justice of Ucayali invites citizens to support this initiative by participating in the virtual voting of the contest. To support Ucayali, you just have to go to the Commissions page and Like it and leave a comment.
Each vote is a recognition of a justice that runs along the Purus River, crosses the borders of the Amazon and reaffirms that no one, no matter how far away they are, should be excluded from access to justice.
