Farmers of the Grodno region must complete harvesting corn for silage by October 20.This year it is planned to prepare about 3 million tons of succulent feed for cattle - this volume will be enough to feed 600 thousand heads of cattle kept on livestock complexes in the region. As Igor Sorokin, Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, said, the yield of the queen of the fields is 340 c/ha, which is 20 c/ha higher than last years figure.In the morning, 65% of the planned corn for silage was harvested in Prinemanye.At the same time, farms are harvesting corn for grain: 17% of the area is threshed, the yield is 110 c/ha, which is 10 c/ha higher than last year.The gross harvest is 100 thousand tons, a total of 500 thousand is expected.Traditionally, this work will be completed in November.
According to Igor Sorokin, despite a slight slowdown in the harvesting pace due to the weather, the operating conditions for the equipment remain comfortable, which allows for the preparation of high-quality feed.
