It is the first investment in formal mining exploration that is developed in the Huanuco jungleThe Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), through the General Office of Social Management (OGGS), led a working meeting with the villages in the area of direct influence of the Valiente mining project, developed by Hannan Resources Peru S.A.C.
This is the first formal mining exploration project to be developed in the Huanuco jungle and, furthermore, the first of great economic importance in the region, with an investment in exploration that exceeds US$ 5 million.
This milestone marks a significant advance for formal mining activity in border areas and opens new opportunities for sustainable development for the surrounding communities.
The community representatives of Ricardo Herrera, Vista Alegre, Micaela Bastidas, Sortilegio, San Pedro de Huyguante and San Pablo expressed their support for the formal mining operation and their willingness to work together with the company, highlighting the importance of meeting their main demands in health, education, agriculture, transportation, rural electrification and local employment.
The OGGS highlighted the climate of openness and collaboration shown by the communities, while the mining company presented the benefits of the project and the General Directorate of Mining Promotion and Sustainability (DGPSM), announced informative/educational workshops and internships to strengthen capacities during 2026.
The MINEM assumed the commitment to transfer communal demands to the competent sectors, coordinate with the General Directorate of Rural Electrification (DGER) the issues associated with the rural electrical service and coordinate with the different levels of government the attention of the requests presented.
The MINEM reaffirms its commitment to promoting spaces for dialogue that strengthen trust between the State, citizens and formal mining activity.
