On Tuesday August 23 the National Institute of Statistics of Equatorial Guinea INEGE published the evolution of inflation corresponding to the month of July of this year. The document highlights that the CPI in this period of July 2022 the general level of prices has increased in all markets nationwide. We attach the full INEGE press release.The General Director of INEGE Ricardo Nsue Ndemesogo explained the current situation of the CPI who said that it is used to find out how the prices of the most consumed products and services in Equatorial Guinea vary. He has also pointed out that through the CPI INEGE calculates the level of inflation and in this way the cost of living of the population is measured. Likewise it has defined inflation as the general level of prices in the markets in a limited period declaring that these expenses are very important to be able to know the standard of living of citizens and to know what is changing prices in markets because these are the products that are most consumed.Faced with this situation Ricardo Nsue Ndemesogo said some decisions must be made one of them is how to change consumption habits. At the same time he has pointed out that the inflation observed is a very significant inflation around 3.3 in July.It concluded by saying that Equatorial Guinea is not exempt from the evolution of inflation in these countries because we are an importing country and therefore we must take measures the Government knows the measures it has to take to mitigate what is the effect of inflation and referring to households he said that divisions can be taken especially those that have to do with changing habits so that the effect of inflation is not suffered so much.
