But of course our relationship developed over the years into a timeless friendship based on the same European principles and values.Today we have I think the closest relationship weve ever had based on the strategic cooperation agreement we signed a few months ago.Proof of this very close relationship is our second meeting within a very short period of time.You will allow me to give you a small gift. It is the letter that the French Minister of Foreign Affairs de La Ferronays sent to the Governor of Greece the first Governor of Greece Ioannis Kapodistrias in 1828 appointing the first French Consul in the new Greek State.I think it is something symbolic and I would like it to be in the office of the French Foreign Minister.
