📋 Tender Overview
The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for Transport, Christina Alexopoulou, awarded, today, at the premises of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition (TIF - Helexpo) the Certificates of Attendance and Success of the training program: "Electrification in Practice", which was carried out under the supervision of Center for Education and Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) of the University of Western Macedonia.
Mrs. Alexopoulou, after thanking the Association of Mechanics of Owners of Car Repair Workshops of the Prefecture of Thessaloniki, OBEAME (Federation of Craftsman Repairers of Cars, Engines and Motorcycles of Greece) and INNORA, an offshoot of the University of Western Macedonia for the invitation, pointed out in her speech how important it is for electrification the creation of qualified personnel. "Properly trained high voltage technicians are an important parameter in the safe development of electric mobility in our country."
Then the Deputy Minister referred to electrification through numbers, as she said: "Today in our country there are around 14,000 purely electric vehicles and another 30,000 rechargeable hybrids. A total of 45,000 high voltage vehicles move on the country's roads. To these are added many simple hybrid vehicles, which also carry a high voltage circuit of more than 60 Volts. Actions must therefore be coordinated with knowledge and strict safety standards. It is important that gradually, through these training programs, a pool of people is created who have the knowledge, a safety culture, necessary for the smooth development of electric mobility in our country".
Concluding her speech, Mrs. Alexopoulou recommended "to the Owners of Car Repair Workshops, to invest in taking all the necessary safety measures, in their workplaces, for the management of high voltage vehicles. I want to express to you my deep conviction that electric mobility, whether with energy storage in batteries or with hydrogen, is the future of mobility, both at the European and domestic level", while he emphasized that Sustainable Urban Mobility is one of the priorities of the Government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis. "The improvement of traffic in Thessaloniki goes through the reduction of our energy footprint and this goes through micromobility, the roller skate, the electric bicycle, the electric scooter and also the electric car. Even the electric bus, already the 110 new electric buses have completed the test routes here in Thessaloniki and in the coming days they will enter service, thus contributing to the reduction of pollutants, noise pollution, but also to the upgrading of the quality of services, of the Public Transport , in your city. As a Government, we subsidize both the placement of chargers in key points such as Municipal Police Stations, through the "Charge Everywhere" program, and the purchase of electric vehicles. Either for individuals, through the ``Moving Electric'' program - in the next few days we will announce the details of the 3rd cycle - or for professional drivers, through the ``Green Taxis'' program."
