Young people trained in High Performance Schools will pursue careers in internationally prestigious institutions thanks to the Cometa ScholarshipEducation transforms lives and opens doors to the world. They are joined by three COAR Lima graduates: Daphne Fernandez, who will study Bioengineering and Business Administration at UC Berkeley; Dessiree Montenegro, who will study Computer Science and Physics at the University of Chicago, and Omar Vallejos, who will train in Engineering Management at Arizona State University.

Learning about the Cometa Scholarship at COAR was an experience that motivated many students. They showed us that accessing a university in the United States was a real possibility. Today I am proud to be the first COAR Arequipa scholarship recipient, said Zahir.

For her part, Dessiree pointed out that she has the firm intention of returning to the country after completing her university studies. I want to investigate and develop proposals that help build a better Peru, with greater opportunities for everyone, he said.

The Cometa Scholarship comprehensively finances the university education of young people with high academic potential. This initiative covers the costs of visa, tuition, pensions, accommodation, food, medical insurance, computer equipment, mentoring, emotional support and an annual ticket, offering necessary conditions for students to develop their abilities to the maximum.

The Minister of Education, Jorge Marticorena, stated that the stories of these five scholarship recipients show the comprehensive training that the students of the COAR Network receive, where they develop academic skills, leadership, critical thinking, language proficiency and a global vision that allows them to compete on equal terms in international admission processes with young people from all over the world.

The Ministry of Education reaffirms its commitment to continue strengthening the COAR Network as a high-performance educational model that forms upright, innovative leaders committed to the development of the country, expanding opportunities for more Peruvian students to convert their talent into an engine of transformation for Peru.
