📋 Tender Overview
The Government analyzes the current state of the national telecommunications network after the audit carried out by the specialized firm Cyberteq.
During the day this Friday, at the Peoples Palace, in Malabo, S.E. Nguema Obiang Mangue has chaired a working meeting with the objective of knowing the results of this technical evaluation, aimed at diagnosing the operation of the system and defining the necessary actions for its improvement.
At the meeting, which was attended by the Prime Minister of the Government, as well as those responsible for the Departments of Transport, Finance and Treasury, the regulatory body GITGE and the main operators in the sector, the company Cyberteq presented a detailed technical report on the state of the national network.
The document includes a set of recommendations aimed at improving the performance of the system, supported by a structured development plan in the short, medium and long term. This plan is based on coverage analysis, technical planning criteria and specialized methodologies for the deployment and modernization of telecommunications infrastructure at the national level.
Among the main deficiencies detected, the obsolescence of some of the network equipment, low speed in data transmission, interruptions in calls due to network saturation, as well as failures in the configuration and planning of the sizing of the infrastructure, among other things, have been pointed out.
Likewise, the report proposes a roadmap to correct these anomalies through technological modernization, strengthening network capabilities and implementing an investment plan that improves service quality and expands coverage, in line with the countrys digital transformation objectives.
After positively evaluating the work presented, Nguema Obiang Mangue has instructed Cyberteq to hold technical meetings with the operators to compare the results of the audit and prepare a conclusive report agreed upon. This process will allow the actions to be executed to be defined more precisely and to evaluate the possibility of the firm accompanying the operators in the implementation of the necessary improvements.
The Vice Presidents objective is to have a more efficient, modern telecommunications system capable of responding to the needs of the population and the technological development of the country.
It should be noted that before addressing the main content of the meeting, Nguema Obiang Mangue congratulated the Ministry of Telecommunications, GITGE and the countrys operators for the performance shown during the visit of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, highlighting the effort made to guarantee stable and quality connectivity, which allowed thousands of people, both inside and outside the country, to follow the events held without interruption.
