π Tender Overview
US President Donald Trump signed a decree on March 20, 2025, which US Minister of Education Linda McMahon shows to initiate all possible steps to dissolve the Ministry of Education. Until then, the services provided by the Ministry should be reduced to a minimum of legal requirements. The Trump administration has officially made its efforts to abolish the Department of Education (ED). After almost half of the more than 4,100 employees have been released in the past few weeks, US President Trump has now signed a decree that aims to finish the ministry. The order says literally: Much of the skills previously located with the ED is to pass to the states. Other services, such as support offers and study loans, will in future be taken over by other federal authorities. According to the Trump administration, the goal is to improve educational results in the United States. Neither the presidents decree nor the statement of the ED contained more detailed information on this.
A congress decision is required for the final resolution of the ministry. Until this is available, the ministry should only provide statutory benefits. According to media reports, the consent of the congress to Trumps plans is not secured. Already on the part of the Democrats, the intent, which intend to do so, is already opposing the arrangement.
