๐ Tender Overview
Bavaria's Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger emphasized the importance of crafts for the Free State at the opening of the International Crafts Fair (IHM) in Munich: โCrafts stand for growth, quality of life and real professional opportunities. That's why it's so important that we combat the shortage of skilled workers by making vocational training more attractive. The master's degree deserves the same recognition as a master's degree. For this reason, we introduced Crafts Day in the 2022/2023 school year and have invested 158.3 million euros in vocational training in the craft sector over the past five years.โ
During his tour of the trade fair, Aiwanger encouraged companies to make even greater use of the opportunities offered by digitalization. Aiwanger: โThe development of artificial intelligence has the potential to positively change our craft. This is already possible in the automation of work processes, personalized production and quality controls. And that is just the beginning!"
The International Crafts Fair with 650 exhibitors and 1,000 experts from over 60 trades will take place from February 28th to Sunday, March 3rd in five halls at the Munich exhibition center. Highlights include โCrafts & Designโ with top-class handicrafts and the โYoung Generationโ. In this area, supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, young people can get to know and try out numerous training and further education professions such as baker, butcher, glazier, painter, roofer, interior decorator or orthopedic shoe technician.
