π Tender Overview
The AI2SB project researches the potential of artificial intelligence and digital twins in the field of engineering. The initiative started in March 2025 and is a cooperation between professors from the University of Sao Paulo (USP) and the Technical University (TU) Darmstadt with the participation of the Papstlich Catholic University of Parana (PUC-PR). Through Digital Twins, Additive Manufacturing and Smart Assembly (AI2SB) with a planned four -year term on the program for composite research (Program for Iniciativa de Pesquisa Colaborativa - PIPC) of the Brazilian support organization Capes and from the German Research Foundation (DFG).
The aim is to find paths for greater flexibility in production systems with value creation networks in order to counter the continued price pressure by global competitors. The use of add -up manufacturing should produce smaller quantities (or individual quantities) competitive with regard to costs and deadlines. For this purpose, new concepts and AI tools are to be developed to enable more efficient assembly, disassembly and additive production of the components.
