In Kojetin THW representatives familiarized themselves with the system of using temporary bridges in the Czech Republic with the composition and individual technical parameters of bridge components and with the technological procedures for their construction. The theoretical part was then followed by the practical part. During it German specialists tried to assemble a heavy bridge set (TMS) a bridge set (MS) and a bridge pier (PIZMO)*.
The Czech Republic has many years of experience with temporary bridges. They play an important role in the crisis management system typically for the rapid restoration of traffic services in the affected area after natural disasters. The system was last tested in 2024 due to floods in the Olomouc and Moravian-Silesian regions where a total of 22 temporary bridges and 8 modular footbridges* were built. Outside of crisis situations the same structures are also used for normal repairs of existing bridges or the construction of new ones.
System of professional education in crisis management of the Ministry of Transport

A total of 23 specific events are planned for 2026 in Kojetin.
* Heavy Bridge System (TMS): A modular steel system designed for the rapid construction of temporary bridges of larger spans especially in emergency situations.
Bridge System (MS): A demountable modular system of bridge construction for temporary bridges typically smaller or less loaded than TMS.
Bridge pillar (PIZMO): pillar of railway bridges. The vertical load-bearing structure of the bridge which transfers the load to the subsoil; provisionals are usually a demountable steel system that can be adjusted to height and load.
Modular footbridge: A modular structure made of standardized parts designed to temporarily transfer pedestrian or bicycle traffic over an obstacle especially in times of crisis or reconstruction.
