In order to increase the stability safety and reliability of the electric energy system of the country 350-430 MW were installed in the municipality of Gardabani. An auction has been announced for the construction of an energy-efficient combined cycle thermal power plant. It will be the largest thermal power plant in the country which is considered a source of guaranteed power. As a result of the price survey procedure a private investor will be identified to whom the 100 share belonging to the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation in the Gardabni thermal power station 3 will be sold which amounts to 2450000 US dollars. The thermal power station will be built and put into operation within 4 years from the signing of the contract complying with the requirements flexible operation ability etc. arising from the needs of the energy system.The selection of the investor will be carried out by a special commission which will be staffed by representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development the Oil and Gas Corporation as well as Gardabni Thermal Station 3 LLC. The electronic auction will be held openly and any interested person will have the opportunity to participate in it.
