📋 Tender Overview
With the support of the State, entrepreneurs can grow, gain visibility and compete in new marketsGoing formal is not just about complying with a rule: it is about opening the door to more income, more clients and new opportunities for growth. Today, thousands of tourism entrepreneurs in Peru can transform their business into a competitive company by accessing concrete benefits that directly impact their profitability.
Along this path, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has been actively promoting the formalization of the tourism sector, providing tools and incentives that allow providers to not only organize themselves, but also grow, position themselves and reach national and international markets.
One of the main benefits is the exemption from VAT on accommodation and food services for non-resident foreign tourists, which allows us to offer more competitive prices and improve profit margins. Added to this is the possibility of participating in fairs, business conferences and promotional campaigns promoted by PROMPERU, where formal businesses can connect directly with buyers and tourists from all over the world.
In addition, formal providers access training and certification programs through CENFOTUR, strengthening their capabilities and raising the quality of their services. They can also join the National Directory of Qualified Tourist Service Providers, generating greater confidence in visitors and differentiating themselves in an increasingly demanding market.
Formalization also allows alignment with the National Tourism Quality Plan (CALTUR), which contributes to improving the reputation of the business, increasing customer satisfaction and encouraging recommendations, key to attracting more visitors.
Getting formalized is easier than it seems. The process is quick and accessible: you only have to identify the type of service, meet basic requirements and submit the application to the Regional Directorate or Management of Foreign Trade and Tourism of each region, or the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, as appropriate.
This strategy is aimed at all actors in the sector: lodging establishments, travel agencies, adventure tourism operators, restaurants and tour guides, with the aim of consolidating a safer, more reliable and competitive tourism offer throughout the country.
Mincetur reaffirms its commitment to accompany entrepreneurs in this process, because a formal business not only grows more, but also generates employment, promotes local development and strengthens the image of Peru as a quality tourist destination.
