Foreign Minister De la Fuente will participate in the IV CELAC-EU Summit, in Santa Marta, Colombia
Representing the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Juan Ramon de la Fuente, will travel today to Santa Marta, Colombia, to participate in the IV Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC)-European Union (EU), which will take place on November 9 and 10 in this city.
The attendance of Foreign Minister De la Fuente responds to the deep interest that Mexico gives to CELAC as the main space for regional political dialogue, as well as the relevance given to the relationship with the European Union as a strategic extra-regional partner.
This participation also reflects Mexicos active role as a relevant actor in the region, as well as its willingness to contribute constructively to the strengthening of bi-regional relations with a view to a shared global agenda.
The CELAC-European Union Summit is a political dialogue mechanism established in 2013 that brings together the 60 States of both regions.
