π Tender Overview
Summary
From today, travelers can rent an OV bicycle at Dronten station in the new OV bicycle pavilion. NS and the municipality of Dronten have jointly opened the first public transport bicycle pavilion in the Netherlands with a green sedum roof. The pavilion therefore not only contributes to a pleasant door-to-door journey, but also to a more sustainable and attractive station area.
The new pavilion offers travelers a recognizable and comfortable place to rent and return an OV-fiets. Dronten is the first municipality with a public transport bicycle pavilion with a green roof. The sedum roof consists of different types of succulents that require little maintenance, retain rainwater and contribute to the biodiversity around the station. The opening of the public transport bicycle pavilion fits within the joint ambition of NS and the municipality of Dronten to stimulate sustainable transport and further green the station area. Recognizable and easy to findNS will be installing public transport bicycle pavilions at more and more stations in the coming years. These will be located at locations without a staffed bicycle shed and ensure that the OV-fiets is easier for travelers to find. The OV-fiets is a popular means of transport for the last part of the journey. By placing a recognizable and easy to find public transport bicycle distribution point at all stations, NS makes the combination of train and bicycle even more attractive. In this way, together we make the Netherlands sustainably accessible.
