ORANJESTAD--On February 7 2026 Mr. Wendrick Cicilia Minister of Tourism Transport and Labor and members of the Supervisory Board of the Aruba Airport Authority CEO Johnny Andersen Member of Parliament Jennifer Arends-Reyes and stakeholders visited the 2030 Gateway expansion project.The Gateway 2030 project is of great importance to the airport our economy and our tourism and is a project of enormous scale with an investment of more than 500 million florins. Gateway 2030 is part of a vision of Aruba Airport and the Aruban government to continue to provide an experience of quality efficiency safety and comfort--elements that an airport must be able to deliver.The baggage handling system and the new check-in hall have already been completed. The new baggage handling system can currently handle 2000 cases in less than an hour and features state-of-the-art technology.The project is in the most important phase of construction namely the expansion which will consist of three additional gates and a bridge connecting the airport facilities to the new gates.
