Please try again later.Thats all we know.The management of the University of Maribor presented investments that are already being implemented or are being prepared, as well as development plans for the future period. Within the framework of the INNOVUM Platform, the renovation of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics and the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering and Architecture, the new construction of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, as well as the expansion of the Faculty of Medicine, are taking place or are being prepared.
The management of the university presented the achieved milestones for individual investments, the current phase of their implementation and the planned completion dates. At the same time, the interlocutors spoke about the importance of modern higher education and research infrastructure for the quality of education, research work, personnel development and cooperation with the economy.
Special attention was also paid to preparations for the next period of the European cohesion policy 2028-2034 and to the possibilities of the University of Maribors participation in the preparation and implementation of development projects.
At the meeting, the Minister for Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development Dr. Monika Kirbis Rojs emphasized: Our goals are successful cooperation and timely and properly implemented projects. We are aware that a high-quality, internationally and domestically established university, such as the University of Maribor, is of strategic importance for the development of the region and the entire country. The strength and development of a city, region, country is made possible by knowledge. Knowledge is the foundation of everything, it is the driver of research and growth.
Minister of Education, Science and Youth Dr. When presenting the plans, Borut Roncevic highlighted the development effect of investments and the responsible handling of public funds: The University of Maribor plays an important role in the Slovenian higher education and research area and in the development of the region. When planning investments, we must proceed primarily from their development effect and the responsible and rational use of public funds. Investments must create better conditions for quality education and research, personnel development and a closer connection of knowledge with the economy and the needs of the environment.
The discussion also focused on the development of human resources, attracting and retaining talent, strengthening scientific research excellence, and more effective transfer of knowledge to the economy and wider society.
The management of the University of Maribor also presented the universitys ambitions to contribute with its educational and research programs and investments to providing the personnel needed by the Slovenian economy and public services, as well as to greater innovation capacity and competitiveness.
The interlocutors agreed on the importance of further dialogue regarding the development and investment needs of the University of Maribor and the integration of knowledge, research and economy for the development of the region and the country.
